We need to talk about Plugrá. If it’s not in your refrigerator, get it in there. Plugrá is butter, but not like most people are used to. Lower water content and higher fat content combine for a much smoother and more delicious experience. It’s like butter that is more buttery. You’ll understand that when you taste it, if you never have.
I remember having it when I lived in New England, especially when having lobster, but I never thought to buy it on my own because I just don’t use butter very much. I feel like the last three years have been wasted. Tonight I picked some up and put it on some grilled corn; incredible.
This reintroduction is thanks to John at the Alcoholian and more specifically, his post on Petite Tenderloin Butter Burgers. If you’re wanting an introduction of your own, that’s not a bad place to start. Other recommendations:
- Buffalo Hangar Steak w/ Plugra Compound Butter
- Bread and Plugra (seriously, just try it.)
- Spring Vegetable Saute
- Spicy Citrus Butter
Look forward to hearing how you’re using Plugrá in your meals!
